High-End Cleanser Truth!
Hi girls! Over the weekend, I shared a post on my empties and many of you wanted to hear my thoughts—so here we go! I'm kicking off my review series by covering cleansers first. I'll be posting more product reviews by category and brand soon, so stay tuned.
Here are my honest thoughts on 10 different high-end cleansers I've used and finished!
1. Cle de Peau Softening Cleansing Foam (Japan) – 9/10
I’ve gone through three tubes of this one! It’s a soap-based cleanser with strong cleansing power. The formula contains diamond powder and microcrystalline cellulose, giving it a mild exfoliating effect. The foam is rich, and after rinsing, my skin feels super clean but not dry. Definitely a staple for me.
2. Dior La Mousse Micellaire (France) – 8/10
This cleanser has a soft mousse texture with a light rose scent. It features Dior’s Grand Rose complex, which took years to develop and is rich in actives. The foam is luxurious and gentle—definitely a high-end experience.
3. Dior Lotion to Foam Fresh Cleanser (France) – 6/10
This one comes in a press-bottle and dispenses white bubbles. It’s a cleanser and makeup remover in one, but the cleansing effect is weak, especially for oily skin. My skin feels a bit greasy afterward. Not my favorite despite the refreshing scent.
4. Lancôme Pore Refining Cleansing Foam (France) – 7.5/10
Formulated with amino acids, this cleanser creates dense foam. It’s okay for sensitive skin but the scent may be a turn-off for some. I have to cleanse twice for a fresh feel. It works, but not exceptional.
5. Albion Clearly Wash (Japan) – 8.5/10
This cleanser contains pearl extract, birch bark, and apple essence. It exfoliates gently and brightens the skin without being harsh. You only need a small amount, and it lasts around three months with regular use.
6. Albion Bright Force Wash (Japan) – 9/10
Infused with enzyme capsules, this wash reaches deep into pores to lift away residue and makeup. It leaves the skin fresh and moisturized without any tightness. A great pick for those who want thorough yet gentle cleansing.
7. Erno Laszlo White Marble Essence Lotion (USA) – 8/10
This cleanser is more like a lotion, with a silky clear texture and minimal foaming. It’s mild yet effective at removing light makeup. I appreciate that it’s fragrance-free and lasts for months.
8. Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam (France) – 7.5/10
This one has tiny exfoliating particles but doesn't dry out the skin. The foam is average though, so if you like a rich lather, it might not be for you. I wouldn’t recommend it for oily skin types.
9. SK-II Facial Treatment Gentle Cleanser (Japan) – 7.5/10
A mild amino acid cleanser enriched with PITERA and willow extract. It’s soothing and hydrating—perfect for sensitive skin. However, the foam is limited, so foam lovers might not enjoy this.
10. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser (USA) – 6/10
Gel-textured and known for its gentle formula, this one’s even safe for pregnancy. The scent is pleasant, but it barely foams and the cleansing power is weak. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth the price and won’t be repurchasing.
That’s everything for now! Hope this guide helps you pick the best high-end cleanser for your needs!
