Baby Spit-Up Truth
Hey friends! 👋 If you're a new parent like me, you might have freaked out a little when your baby spits up after feeding.
Trust me, I was there too—worrying if something was wrong or if it's just part of the deal. So, I wanted to share what I learned about baby spit-up and why it's mostly normal! 🍼💕

Why do babies spit up?

Babies' digestive systems are still growing and learning how to handle milk or formula. Their little stomach muscles aren't fully developed yet, so sometimes milk comes back up—that's spit-up! It's super common, especially in the first few months. Think of it as their body's way of adjusting to eating and digesting.

When is spit-up normal?

Spit-up usually happens right after feeding or when babies burp. It's usually just a small amount and doesn't bother the baby much. If your baby is happy, gaining weight well, and not showing signs of discomfort, that's a good sign it's normal spit-up.

How I handled spit-up at home?

I found a few easy things really helped reduce spit-up. First, feeding smaller amounts but more often seemed to work better. Also, keeping my baby upright for at least 20 minutes after feeding helped a lot — gravity does the job! Lastly, gentle burping during and after feeding made a big difference too.

When to watch out and ask for help?

Of course, sometimes spit-up might mean something else, like reflux or allergies. If your baby spits up a lot, seems uncomfortable, refuses to eat, or isn't gaining weight, it's best to check with a doctor. Don't hesitate to ask—better safe than sorry!
